Winter Happenings

We tried many times to make it to the Festival of Lights at the Zoo as a family. Unfortunately it has been a rough winter of sickness in the Gattuso household. Our last attempt, Katelyn was sick with a fever and I sent Michael and Izzy and cousin Abby to enjoy. We had been talking about going for so long and Izzy would ask constantly, "Is today the day we are going to the Festibal of Lights?"

Mid January was Michael's birthday. The girls were very excited to celebrate Daddy's big day and I had to keep reminding Isabelle not to tell Dad what his presents were. She did pretty good but it was very hard to wait all day for Michael to get home from his first set of Saturday classes. Happy 31st Michael!

Iching to play in the snow, Izzy got all decked out in her snow suit and headed out to make some snow angels. Katelyn decided pretty early in the winter that this was not her idea of fun and stayed inside on this particular day.

And of course there have been many a days were Daddy and Katelyn were up to their usual monkey business.

Close your eyes Nana. Yes, those are your mantels that Michael has your granddaughter jumping from. She's loving every minute!

Christmas in March

Yes, I do realize that Christmas was a whopping three months ago and we've now moved into spring (even though it doesn't feel like it at 30 degrees). It's called playing catch up.

Christmas Eve we did our traditional dinner, nativity and Christmas bingo game. Playing hostess I felt like it was more of a whirlwind than anything but certainly fun being around family and friends. For the nativity, Izzy was an angel again this year and Katelyn well, let's just say she was just wandering around performing on the carpet. She does things on her own terms and a nativity was not in her schedule for the evening.

These are our cute matching aprons that the Beck family (courtesy of Sharese of course) made to go along with our family gift. We love them. Thanks Sharese!

Katelyn all ready for bed in her new jammies.

Izzy set out some cake pops, carrots and milk for Santa and his crew. She insisted on leaving a cute little note so he knew exactly who it was from. It was fun to see her so excited this year.

CHRISTMAS MORNING

The traditional Christmas morning on the stairs picture before they see what or if Santa has come.

I'm not saying that Katelyn didn't love her other new toys but she definitely takes after her Mom with her love of shoes. I couldn't be more proud ;)

One of Isabelle's new presents. She's enjoyed rocking out ever since.

Both of the girls with their new princess baby dolls, snuggling under their new princess fleece blanket, watching a princess movie. Yep, all girl, both of them!
