Cakes is One!

Still playing catch up a little bit here.... Katelyn had her first Birthday the beginning of May. We obviously went with a "cupcakes" theme! Here's Katelyn with her brand new birthday slide! Weeee.

Tiffany's put her desert making skills to good use and homemade the cupcakes...

...and these teeny little cupcake cake pops (thanks to the Sharese school of culinary arts)

Cakes was excited by the gifts she received (not only the gifts but the wrapping too)!

Katelyn didn't know quite what to do with the candle on the birthday cake. She finally extinguished it with her finger..oops. It worked though!

The cake was very much demolished by Cakes. Delicious!

Izzy was more than happy to help Katelyn celebrate her special day. What are sisters for?

Dad finally came to town

My Dad has been planning a solo trip to come and see us for a long time. Finally at the beginning of the month he was able to make it all the way to Cincinnati on his own.

We figured my parents have been to Cincinnati six or seven times at least so they are certainly no strangers here. It didn't stop us from the enjoying the great Cincinnati pastimes, like Graeters ice cream:

The Cincinnati Reds baseball team:

New on our outings this time were the Root Beer stand (probably properly called "ye olde tyme roote beere stande") which was really good for ... well ... root beer.

We also went out to the Zoo (now that we are bona fide Zoo season ticket holders) and had a great time there especially on the train! - maybe we should've just bought season tickets to the theme-park.

The highlight of the trip however, was to witness these little monkeys spending time with their granddad.

Katelyn's first bike ride

We got to pull out the old bike helmet a few weeks ago and let Katelyn have her first bike ride.

She was a little apprehensive at first.

Not so say the bike ride wasn't awesome (which it was) but it seemed to be a little too much for Katelyn who couldn't handle the excitement and had to take a nap.

In other news Katelyn has started to figure out how to feed herself. She's hasn't mastered it yet but it's a good start.

She's also started to get up on her feet. Maybe she'll be walking soon.

One thing's for sure is that Katelyn loves to sleep and can sleep anywhere, anyhow.

Sisters

This is why we're glad we have two girls in a row...
